Year 10 Motion Physics Test
- Wednesday the 14th of November
- Period 4
- Room 6
Students are permitted to bring:
- A single sided A4 summary sheet
- Pens, pencils, ruler & eraser
The test will cover all of the Motion Topic from Notes 10.2.1 to Notes 10.2.6
Both Year 11 Physics Classes are required to submit their Practical Investigation by the end of the school day on Friday the 16th of November (ie. 3:15pm). The class room will be locked and vacated by 3:20pm.
Students are required to submit the following items:
- Practical logbook
- Scientific Poster (electronic format such as power point or pdf)
There has been three weeks of class time allocated. As such, students are expected to meet the deadline. Special provision is of course available to all students. However this will require documentation, a formal application and a scheduled interview with the appropriate house coordinator.
Unit 2 Physics Exam

- Kildare Hall, Lavalla Catholic College
- Reading commences: 11:15am
- Writing commences: 11:25am
- Pens down: 12:55pm
Students are permitted to bring pens , pencils, rulers, a scientific calculator, erasers and higlighters. Students are also permitted to bring a single sided A4 summary sheet.

Year 10 Electricity Topic Test
- Wednesday the 20th of March, 2018
- Room 6
- Period 3
- Written test – multiple choice & short answer
- 50 minutes duration
- single sided A4 summary sheet is allowed
This test will assess the content covered in the Electricity topic. It will cover content up to and including Ohm’s Law. Effectively Notes 10.1.1 to Notes 10.1.6 inclusive.
Assessment Task 1- An annotated folio of practical activities
- Friday 22nd March, 2019
- Period 3
- Room 6
- 50 minutes duration
- Written analysis of a collection of 4 practical investigations
- A student practical logbook is permitted
This assessment task requires each student to bring their logbook and to answer specific questions related to the four investigations undertaken in class. Students will be required to submit their logbook upon completing the task.
Year 11 Physics SAC – Electricity Topic Test

- Area of Study 2 “How do electric circuits work?”
- 5 minutes reading & 50 minutes writing
- Written test format
Students are permitted to bring a single sided A4 summary sheet, a scientific calculator, and the typical pens, pencils, erasers etc.
Students will be supplied with a copy of the 2018 NEAP Physics Exam Formula & Data Sheet
Students are encouraged to prepare for this SAC by completing the following tasks:
- Handouts 1.2.1 – 1.2.3
- Edrolo topic exam 1
- Edrolo topic exam 2
- Reviewing any practice Physics exam papers and examination reports
Year 11 Physics SAC – “What is matter and how is it formed?” Topic Test
- Tuesday the 18th of June
- Area of Study 3 “What is matter and how is it formed?”
- 5 minutes reading & 50 minutes writing
- Written test format
Students are permitted to bring a single sided A4 summary sheet, a scientific calculator, and the typical pens, pencils, erasers etc.
Students will be supplied with a copy of the 2018 NEAP Physics Exam Formula & Data Sheet
Students are encouraged to prepare for this SAC by completing the following tasks:

- Velocity-Time graphs
- Unit conversions from m/s to km/h and vice versa
- Average speed and average velocity
- Average acceleration
- Basic ticker timer calculations
- Equations of constant acceleration

- Energy conversions
The Year 10 Science – Physics Exam is scheduled for Tuesday the 25th June in the Kildare Hall commencing at 8:50am and finishing at 10:30am. Details as follows:
