Year 10 “Motion” Topic Test

Students are permitted to bring a single sided A4 summary sheet, a scientific calculator, and the typical pens, pencils, erasers etc.
Students are encouraged to prepare for this test by completing the following tasks:

The Year 10 Science – Physics Exam is scheduled for Friday the 22nd November in the Kildare Hall commencing at 8:50am and finishing at 10:30am. Details as follows:

- A4 summary sheet (double sided) – hand written/typed/photocopied

- Definitions of voltage and current
- Scientific notation (mA, kV, MΩ)
- Series & parallel circuits; calculations of voltage and current
- Measuring voltage and current using analog meters
- Calculation of effective resistance
- Resistance colour coding; determining the resistance of an unknown resistance
- Ohm’s Law; graph analysis and equation calculation
- Electrical power; P=VI & E=Pt, calculation of the cost of power consumption
Topic 2 Motion (Notes 10.2.1 – Notes 10.2.6)
- Distance and displacement
